Claire Sutton is a well respected trainer and is extremely skilled at presenting workshops, seminars, training courses to employees, management, colleagues and other professionals.
Due to her experience in the field of EAP and having managed National contracts and supervised the work of the National affiliate ( contract counsellors) Claire realized early on in her management/supervisory positions that most counsellors were not given much, if any, EAP training. Many counsellors could not even give a clear definition of EAP. If you cannot define an EAP then you do not understand the service and you cannot do the essential work.
In 2002, Claire designed and developed and EAP/EFAP training course entitled “ The ABCs of EAP” it has progressed into “ The Fundamentals & More of EAP/EFAP.” The training is geared to educate clinical practitioners on their EAP knowledge base, core technologies and to enhance their skill set to do effective EAP work. It has helped numerous counsellors increase their effectiveness when working within strict session-limits, that is, using fewer sessions to better able reach the determined goals. This course has been widely successful and the equivalent on-line training has been launched in the fall of 2005 to reach a wider selection of clinical counsellors interested in the EAP field.
PROFESSIONAL EAP PROGRAMS:
This course has been specifically designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of counsellors working in the rapidly evolving field of EAP. This course explores in-depth the seven core technologies of EAP and due diligence standards. Full confidentiality will be maintained throughout the course. Requirements are a minimum of a Master’s degree (or M.A cand) in Counselling, Counselling Psychology, Psychology, Sociall Work or a related field).

those who register prior to August 25th. After august 25th a $35.00 fee will be charged. $ 60.00 fee to non-course registrants. (All participants are to pay their own long distance fees.)
Once registration is completed participants will be able to “take the tour” to familiarize themselves with the facilitated online training approach. A complete hardcopy handout package will be sent by express post to each class participant. During the course, participants must log on at least once a day (at a time convenient to each participant) and participate in the class discussions and submit assignments. It is time flexible though within a structured format. Participants will spend 15 - 20 hours (including messaging discussions, case reviews, reading assignments) to complete the training course.
