Barb Schimnowsky, CMC

Barb Schimnowsky is a Certified Management Consultant. She has over 20 years experience in the human resource field with particular expertise in executive search and recruitment and organizational development. Barb has assisted many small and medium-sized clients in achieving their business goals by not only recruiting the best candidates available but also ensuring the right HR programs are in place to enhance retention of existing staff.

She has established the HR function within a number of organizations including policy development, writing job descriptions, designing performance management systems, evaluating compensation levels to ensure market competitiveness, developing recruitment processes and tools, etc. She is authorized to use an on-line Exit Management System and an Employee Retention Survey which are both great tools for identifying problem areas and developing action plans to impact change in terms of increased productivity, decreased turnover, and improved financial performance.

Barb is a member of the Canadian Association of Management Consultants and the B.C. Human Resources Management Association. She is Chair of the Abbotsford KidSport Program and a Director of Pacific Sport Fraser Valley. Previous community involvement includes Director of the 2004 BC Summer Games, past President of Twisters Gymnastics Club, Trustee of the Surrey Public Library, and Co-Chair of the Air Canada Championship Birdies for Charity Program. Barb has written articles on various HR issues for Go2 The Resource for People in Tourism’s website and other industry publications.
