GET PSYCHED-UP WITH CLAIRE'S TIP OF THE MONTHSLOW DOWN: TAKE TIME TO REFLECT
As we settle into spring, let us take time to reflect on our lives. The news lately has been fraught with blatant acts of hypocrisy, arrogance, deceit and incidents of road rage. Many of my clients present complaining of poor self-esteem. Self-esteem is the reputation we have with our selves. Healthy self-esteem is being authentic i.e. honest with who we are, the goals we wish to achieve and the way in which we conduct our lives. Think about it and contemplate the little story below. Two Wolves An elder Apache was teaching his grandchildren about life. He said to them, "A fight is going on inside me, it is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One wolf represents fear, anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, competition, superiority, and ego. "The other stands for joy, peace, love, hope, sharing, serenity, humility, kindness, friendship, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. This same fight is going on inside you, and inside every other person, too." They thought about it for a minute and then one child asked his grandfather, " Grandpa, Which wolf will win?" The old Grandpa simply replied, "THE ONE YOU FEED."
